First Look
Pavla produces an interesting line of detail sets for a variety of subjects, each one designed to enhance a particular aspect of a given kit. In this set, Pavla offers a nice update for Airfix's 1/72 Spitfire Mk.IX.
This set completely overhauls the spartan cockpit in the kit. The set starts with a new drop-in cockpit tub the features the interior structure of the airframe around the pilot as well as the fittings for the cockpit itself. This is built up further with nicely cast sidewalls, rear seat mounting frame, replacement set, control yoke, rudder pedals and other details. The set is rounded out by a vacuformed windscreen and canopy so you can see the nice interior without the distortions of the stock kit styrene canopy.
