First Look
If you're a modeler of the Israeli Defense Forces, you've no-doubt come across many of the excellent decals from IsraDecal or the colorful monographs from IsraDecal Publications. In attempt to bridge the detail gap between production kits and current configurations of IDF aircraft, IsraCast was born to fill this void.
In this release, IsraCast has provided a nice update set to bring your Monogram 1/48 AH-1S up to Israeli Air Force configuration.
This set provides a nice array of antennas, fairings, chaff/flare dispensers, sensor boxes, and even a new rotating beacon, all to reflect the tactical makeover that Israel performed to these aircraft for better protection in their unique hostile operating evironment. The instruction sheet uses photos of the real aircraft to illustrate how each resin part is supposed to look on the model.
This is a nice update for the Hasegawa Cobra to bring that kit up to typical IDF configuration. This set is highly recommended.
My sincere thanks to IsraDecals for this review sample!
