First Look

With the releases of the HK Models 1/32 Mosquito B.IV and Tamiya 1/32 Mosquito FB.VI kits, I was wondering what options were available to convert one of the kits to a later mark Mossie. A search through eBay revealed Grey Matter Figures' store that produces some interesting conversions for several subjects of interest to me. Since this was my first encounter with this company, I started with this Mosquito conversion.

Mosquito Two-Stage Merlin Cowlings Conversion Set

This set arrived well-packaged in the mail and features the parts cast in gray resin. The cowlings are cast in two parts, with with the lower portion with all of the distinctive scoops and grilles cast as one part and the upper portion as a second. The set also includes wide-chord propellers and the extended exhausts. How do they fit? I believe this set was engineered for the Revell kit and I will soon find out how they match up with the HK Models Mossie B.IV. One way or another, they will work.

I'm pleased with this set and I can't wait to get to work on this project! Stay tuned!
