First Look
Eduard from the Czech Republic is easily the most prolific producer of aftermarket details. Period. Brassin is a play on words with Brass and Resin, and in many sets in this series, the resin details also include a set of photo-etched parts as well.
In this release, Eduard has produced the nicest set of MiG-29 exhaust nozzles I've seen in any scale (except 1:1). I'm hoping they'll do these in 1/32 scale as well! The set is cast in gray resin with the inner and outer nozzles captured nicely in these castings. The turbine face is cast separately and this is augmented with a photo-etched flame holder and separate photo-etch injection spray ring. Two comlete sets are naturally provided to properly equip the MiG-29. This set is designed to work with the Academy kit or the special edition Eduard kit that is based upon the Academy kit.
You should be able to find this detail set at your local hobby retailer or one of the many online hobby shops. Trust me, this is worth looking for! If you haven't seen a MiG-29 up-close, this distinctive inner/outer nozzle array is a distinctive feature of the aircraft and not really captured by the stock Academy kit.
Recommended for experienced modelers!
My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
