First Look
Eduard from the Czech Republic is easily the most prolific producer of aftermarket details. Period. Their series of photo-etched detail sets have brought additional fidelity to otherwise bland subjects, and have taken even the best-produced models and kicked them up a notch or two with details that cannot be produced with injection-molded plastic.
This set is designed to fit the Martin Baker ejection seats in the Academy 1/48 F-4C Phantom II kit, complete with shoulder harnesses, lap belts, survival kit seat pan covers, overhead actuator pull handles, lower actuator pull handle, and remove-before flight tags to pose the seat 'safed'. The details are all color-printed in place complete with nice clear printing, stitching on the belts/harnesses, and wearing stripes on the actuator handles.
This is one of two options now for ejection seat restraints from Eduard. These color-printed photo-etch sets are one option that has been augmented recently with a similar set replacing photo-etch with color-printed fabric straps/harnesses. You have choices in many of your subjects, check for availability of the fabric options as these are still relatively new.
My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
