Tristar has been turning out some impressive tank kits of late, not the least of which is the Panzer 38(t) Ausf.G kit (reviewed here). With all of that excellent detail, there are still limits to what one can do with styrene, you cannot create thin, sharp details in that medium. Eduard to the rescue.

This detail set starts with new fenders and fender brackets. Supplemental armor plate around the driver's compartment is also provided. As expected, many of the molded-on details are replaced with photo-etch including the pioneering tool mounting brackets, gun sights, and spare track link stowage brackets.

This set also includes two new tool boxes that look odd on the fret, but fold into nice boxes that can be positioned open or closed. A third box is also provided to house maintenance tools and to mount the tank's jack.

The set is rounded out with retainer chains, grab handles, and locking claps to keep those molded-on doors closed.

The details in this set are small and will require patience, experience with photo-etch, and be made easier when used with good tools.

This set is definitely recommended!

My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
