Eduard from the Czech Republic is easily the most prolific producer of aftermarket details. Period. Their series of photo-etched detail sets have brought additional fidelity to otherwise bland subjects, and have taken even the best-produced models and kicked them up a notch or two with details that cannot be produced with injection-molded plastic.
In this release, Eduard provides those details that are difficult to do in styrene and have provided a nice array of details for the exterior surfaces of the Kinetic 1/32 F-86F-40kit.
This set starts off in the nose wheel well and provides the missing C-channel rib structures that run across the top of the wheel well. Additional enhancelements in this area include nice nose gear oleo scissors, and improved hingle details forthe forward nose gear door.
This set really does a complete once-over inside the port and starboard gun bays.
Each of the six 50 caliber machine guns get corrected base plates and are fed through an improved structure at the forward end of each bay (in PE of course). The set also provides nice ammo feed chutes with gun belts for each gun and two replacement gun bay doors that are beautifully structured.
Next are two new speed brakes with complete interior and exterior detailing.
In the main wheel wells, you get some needed structural improvements as well as replacement oleo scissors for the main gear as well.
The set is rounded out with intake and exhaust covers, refueling caps for the external tanks, and sway braces for the pylons.
You should be able to find this detail set at your local hobby retailer or one of the many online hobby shops. Trust me, thisis worth looking for!
My sincere thanks to Eduard for this review sample!
