Cold War Studio 1/48 MiG-25BM Foxbat Wild Weasel Conversion Set First Look

A few months ago, I first learned of Cold War Studio and their growing range of correction and conversion sets when I was looking for an aftermarket correction to Kitty Hawk's 1/48 Su-17/22 Fitter intake centerbody. Here is one of their latest conversions, and currently the most expensive of their sets, but you'll see in these photos that you are getting your money's worth. This set converts the ICM 1/48 MiG-25RBT reconnaissance Foxbat into the MiG-25BM Foxbat F. Cold War Studio also produces a corrected nose for the ICM MiG-25RBT as well as a nose conversion for the MiG-25RBF, but I digress...

The MiG-25BM is a modified recce bird that has been converted into a 'Wild Weasel'. Armed with four Kh-58U anti-radiation missiles, the MiG-25BM can run towards hostile airspace at high Mach, fire off its missles at different radar systems, and egress at high speed. This set includes a nice photo-etched detail set for the cockpit and exterior details, fabric and photo-etched ejection seat harness, and beautifully cast replacement nose, antenna bumps and blades, four detailed Kh-58U missiles, and the specialized missile pylons and launch rails. The set also includes a set of masks to make painting of the dilectric panels on the new nose much easier. Take a look at the images below:

Note that this set and the other products from Cold War Studio do not include instructions, instead they have you download their full-color instructions from either their website or from the HobbyZone USA website who now imports the line into the U.S. The instructions recommend using the Begemot 1/48 MiG-25 family decal set as well as their MiG-25 airframe stencil set as they examples of the MiG-25BM on their sheet.
