First Look

I met up with the new owner of CAM resin details at the 2006 IPMS/USA National Convention and not only is he reissuing the existing CAM detail line, he's already releasing new subjects as well.

This jewel was originally engineered by TAC Scale Dynamics for the Tamiya or Italeri M998 Humvee kits before the molds were acquired by CAM. This is one part, but it is an impressive casting that replicates the detail under the hood of the earlier Humvees. How close this casting is to current production 'heavy' Humvees is another question.

M998 Humvee Engine

If you are planning to build one of the older Tamiya or Italier Humvees and you're just as sore as I was that there was nothing under the hood but air, this will provide a drop-in solution to give you something to raise your hood to.

My sincere thanks to John's Models for this review sample!
