First Look
AMS Resin continues to turn out some nice aftermarket detail sets at reasonable prices. In this latest release, they've created a beautifully detailed ejection seat for the recent Trumpeter 1/32 F-100D Super Sabre kit. This seat is also designed to be a drop-in replacement for the Avionix 1/32 F-100D cockpit set that included the ejection seat with a lump of a parachute in the seat obstructing the otherwise beautiful details.
This set replicates all of the details of the average seat used in the F-100D and in the rear cockpit of the F-100F. It is safe to assume that we'll see another seat with the folding headrest for the F-100F front cockpit when Trumpeter releases that kit in the not-too-distant future.
Take a look at those images. This seat captures the shoulder harnesses, lap belts and even the snap reel strap that launches the pilot clear of the seat after ejection. There is some really nice engineering done to render these sets! If you are planning to add a pilot figure in the cockpit or perhaps want to do your own seatbelt/shoulder harness details, then you'll want this seat instead.
Look for some other interesting releases for the Trumpeter 1/32 F-100 series. AMS Resin provides some nice detail at a very reasonable price.
