First Look
AGV Models has released an interesting resin conversion for the Tamiya 1/35 T-55 tank kit. This set replicates the modernized T-55 main battle tanks in service with the Syrian Army. Let's take a look:
This set consists of one fret of four resin parts and a length of wire. The main part replicates the laser rangefinder unit mounted atop the gun barrel so this part has the rangefinder, mount, and gun mantlet cover cast as one part with a hole to accommodate the kit gun barrel. The other parts include a wind sensor, control box mounted on the rear of the turret, a power connector mounted near the loader's hatch, and the wire connects the power connector to the laser unit. The parts are nicely cast in gray resin and only the the laser rangefinder part will require removal of the casting block.
This is a simple modification which will make an interesting variation of the standard T-55 for your armor shelf.
