First Look
Yellow-Wings Decals has entered the scene with an interesting specialty area - markings for USN Navy aircraft prior to World War II (hence the Yellow Wings name). These markings are printed by Microscale, so they are great quality by definition.
As an alternative to the several decal sets previously released that would allow you to model virtually any pre-war TBD-1, this set is designed for those who would rather have all of the markings for a given aircraft on one sheet. In this case, Yellow Wings has provided markings for complete aircraft, though the national markings are sufficient for only one. The two aircraft covered by this set are:
- TBD-1, BuNo 0316, 5-T-8, VT-5, USS Yorktown
- TBD-1, BuNo 0343, 6-T-16, VT-6, USS Enterprise
