First Look
Yellow-Wings Decals has entered the scene with an interesting specialty area - markings for USN Navy aircraft prior to World War II (hence the Yellow Wings name). These markings are printed by Microscale, so they are great quality by definition.
This set is designed make your life a little easier. While many folks prefer to paint the wing chevron and fuselage band colors on their Navy aircraft, some of these aircraft have black or white pin stripes to outline the bands/chevrons. Unless you like to mask and paint really narrow lines, these decals will make this detail quite a bit easier. They will also compliment the fuselage bands and wing chevron decals released in 48003 for the TBD-1 Devastator.
The set also includes several pages of profiles and documentation to help you replicate the correct colors in the right places to render an accurate model.
Yellow-Wings Decals can be purchased directly from their website at www.yellow-wingsdecals.com.
My sincere thanks to Yellow-Wings Decals for this review sample!
