First Look
Yellow-Wings Decals has entered the scene with an interesting specialty area - markings for USN Navy aircraft prior to World War II (hence the Yellow Wings name). These markings are printed by Microscale, so they are great quality by definition.
This set is designed to compliment 72001 and 48002, the squadron markings/numbers for VT-2, VT-3, VT-5 and VT-6. In this set, the color fuselage bands and wing chevrons are provided for all six sections and well as a nice set of the unique pre-war propeller tip stripes, propeller manufacturer markings and squadron logos for all four squadrons.
The set also includes several pages of profiles and documentation to help you replicate the correct colors in the right places to render an accurate model.
Yellow-Wings Decals can be purchased directly from their website at www.yellow-wingsdecals.com.
My sincere thanks to Yellow-Wings Decals for this review sample!
