First Look
Yellow-Wings Decals has released its second decal set in 1/32 scale. This set provides the pre-World War Two era (1919-1942) roundel-styled national insignia.
This set includes scale 24", 46", 50", and 52" roundels used by the F4F Wildcat, F2A Buffalo, and SBD Dauntless. The instructions clearly show the proper size and placement of these roundels. You can also see in the decal image that these decals are single layer - you don't have to place the red dot over the blue/white roundel as must be done with other manufacturers' decals. These are in perfect register too!
With the upcoming release of the Trumpeter 1/32 F4F-3 Wildcat and SBD Dauntless, as well as the Classic Airframes/Special Hobby 1/32 F2A Buffalo, these markings are just in time for your pre-war yellow-winged project!
Yellow-Wings Decals can be purchased directly from their website at www.yellow-wingsdecals.com.
My sincere thanks to Yellow-Wings Decals for this review sample!
