First Look

Starfighter Decals has released this interesting pair of Spads in this 1/72 AEF Showbirds Part I set designed for the Eduard kit. These markings provide a a pair of interesting schemes, both of which are red, white, and blue color schemes. The decals do much of the work, leaving you to paint the model white and add a little blue in a few spots.

This decal set provides markings for two aircraft:

  • Spad 13C1, 94 Aero Sqn, Ft Alexander, Coblenz, Germany, April 1919, as flown by Lt.Palmer, 'Diamond Dick'
  • Spad 13C1, 94 Aero Sqn, Ft Alexander, Coblenz, Germany, April 1919, as flown by Capt. Chambers, 'Flag Bus'

This sheet provides sufficient stencils and national markings for one aircraft. The instructions are in color and will also help identify some of the subtle color and detail variations for each of these subjects.

You can purchase these decals directly from Starfighter Decals on their website.

My sincere thanks to Starfighter Decals for this review sample!
