First Look
Starfighter Decals has released this nice decal set for the upcoming reissue of the Revell/Renwall 1/500 USS Shangri-La kit. This kit represents the three Essex-class carriers that were refitted in the SCB-27C/125 configuration: USS Lexingtion, USS Bonhomme Richard, and USS Shangri-La.
This decal set provides markings for the following marking configurations:
- USS Lexington CV-16, 1958-1962
- USS Lexington CVS-16, 1963-1969
- USS Lexington CVT-16, 1969-78
- USS Bonhomme Richard CVA-31, 1960+
- USS Shangri-La CVA-38, 1960+
Markings are provided for the flight deck, island, hull, and even markings for the Cougars and Skywarriors included in the kit.
This is a really nice update for this kit and the instructions point out other aftermarket resources which can help to further detail and tailor your subject.
