First Look
Starfighter Decals has released this decal superset to recreate Air Group 6 aboard USS Enterprise between June and October 1942. This set includes markings for the air group with variations for selected periods of time.
The instructions show marking placement and differences for the following squadrons:
- VF-6 F4F-4
- VS-6 SBD-3
- VB-6 SBD-3
- Torpdeo 6 TBD-1/TBF-1
In addition, the instructions show the composition and marking differences between the Battles of Midway Island, Eastern Solomans, and Santa Cruz. For whatever reason, Trumpeter hasn't released Enterprise in 1/350 scale even though they did USS Hornet. Whether you're backdating your USS Hornet kit or working with one of the resin Enterprise kits, this decal set will help you replicate the air group to the that period of time when the War in the Pacific changed course.
