Starfighter Decals has released this useful decal set for modelers of contemporary carrier aviation. Here is a set of decals to render most of VS-24 circa 1978-79. This set recreates the markings of this squadron operating the S-3A Viking aboard USS Nimitz. What is equally interesting (at least to me) is that this squadron aboard the Nimitz at that time of the filming of the movie 'Final Countdown' and during the support mission for the Iranian hostage rescue mission.
This set provides CAG's MODEX 700, skipper's MODEX 701, plus line aircraft 702, 703, 704, 706, 707, and 710. You can see that this set does provide almost all of the black backgrounds for the aircraft from anti-glare to walkways as decals.
If you want to really dress up the Hoovers on your Nimitz deck, this is a great set. Starfighter is gradually rolling out markings for CVW-8 so you can eventually complete the air wing for your Trumpeter 1/350 USS Nimitz with highly detailed markings.
