Set Number 481257 Pros Four distinctive Dragonflys
Cons See text Skill Level Novice

First Look

Superscale International is well-known for their aftermarket decals. At one time these decals were produced under the Microscale brand before the business was split up, but even then Superscale decals were still printed by Microscale. Of course this company goes back many decades and the company more recently became part of Squadron's line-up of hobby products. This set was printed by Cartograf, so the times sure have changed!

OA-37B OA-37B

This set was produced for the Monogram 1/48 OA-37B kit as well as for the recent release of the Encore Models 1/48 OA-37B (which starts with the Monogram kit). The four aircraft featured in this set include:

  • YA-37B, 70-1307, 6510 TW/AFFTC, Edwards AFB, 1982
  • OA-37B, 71-1414, 19 TASS/51 TFW, Osan AB, 1989
  • OA-37B, 73-1104, 24 TASS/24 CW, Howard AFB, 1988
  • OA-37B, 73-1091, 169 TASS/182 TASG/IL ANG, 1990

The set provides sufficient national markings and stencils for all four aircraft. The instructions provide color references to FS 595 paints. These are some nice alternative subjects to the markings supplied by Monogram and Encore.

My sincere thanks to Squadron Mail Order for this review sample!
