First Look
Pacific Monograph has released this interesting utility decal set rendering 'fresh' (newly painted) Kuomintang (Republic of China or Chinese Nationalist) roundels. This set provides these roundels in 10 different sizes.
The instructions have two tables, one that identifies the size of each roundel on this sheet by a letter, and the second table shows the corresponding size of each letter (roundel) in 1/72, 1/48, and 1/32 scales. You can see from the cover art that this set is valid for aircraft flown by the Chinese Air Force (and the AVG) during World War II, and these can also be used on aircraft of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Air Force (RoCAF) through present day.
Whether you're building a Curtiss Hawk of the Chinese Air Force to hunt down Japanese targets, or an F-86, F-100, or F-16 of the RoCAF doing the same with Communist Chinese targets, this set will provide those essential roundels that are not always provided in kits. Pacific Monograph also produces a Not-So-Fresh set of roundels (darker from age) in this same format which we'll examine soon.
My sincere thanks to Pacific Monograph for this review sample!
