First Look
MAW-Decals has released a new set of decals, this one tackling two different Super Sea Stallions from Marine Corps squadron HMM-261 (reinforced)! There are enough markings included in this set to render both subjects here and those subjects are:
- CH-53E Super Stallion, 162252, EM/21, HMM-261, USMC, 2006, Color Profile
- CH-53E Super Stallion, 161995. EM/23, HMM-261, USMC, 2006, Color Profile
This set contains two sheets of decals. The first sheet, printed by Cartograf, contains the distinctive markings and national markings for both aircraft. A few of the colorful markings are rendered as separate layers as if this set were originally going to Microscale for printing as Cartograf has great success in rendering multicolor decals in perfect register as one single decal. The second sheet is MAW's CH-53 Walkways decal sheet for the E-model which is also available separately ( reviewed here).
If you're looking for some distinctive subjects for your Academy CH-53E kit, this decal set is nicely done and is a bargain to boot!
