MAW-Decals is a relatively new decal company that seems to be well-placed to get quality information - Camp Lejuene, NC. MAW (for Marine Air Wing) is affiliated with VF Decals (VF - Navy Fighter Squadron).

In this release, MAW Decals has taken a different approach to their aircraft markings, rather than cover several Hornets from the same unit, they've provided a historical cross-section of aircraft assigned to the squadron over its jet-age history.

The three aircraft covered in this set are:

  • F/A-18D, 164959, VMFA(AW)-533, ED/01, April 2004 Operation Iraqi Freedom
  • A-6E (TRAM), 158041, VMA(AW)-533, ED/405, 1991 Operation Desert Storm
  • A-4B, 144981, VMA-533, ED/7, 1964

The decal printing is crisp and colorful and the instructions are printed in full color.

My sincere thanks to MAW-Decals for this review sample!
