First Look

Lifelike Decals from Japan turns out some colorful and nicely printed subjects. In this set, we have three distinctive P-47 Thunderbolts that will definitely compliment the Tamiya 1/72 P-47 kits. This set includes the rather interesting 'Kokomo' flown by Major General William Kepner.

P-47D P-47DP-47D

This decal set provides markings for three aircraft:

  • P-47D-25-RE, 42-26637, VM-P, Commander VIII FC, as flown by Maj Gen William Kepner, Aug 1944, 'Kokomo'
  • P-47D-10-RE, 42-75207, 62 FS/56 FG, LM-C, March 1944, 'Boche Buster'
  • P-47D-27-RE, 42-27260, 345 FS/350 FG, 5D3, early 1945, 'Flak Happy'

As you can see in the decal image, this set comes complete with a full set of national markings, distinctive unit markings, and a wealth of maintenance stencils. If you're looking for a colorful alternative that isn't from the mainstream Superscale/Eagle Strike/Aeromaster line-up, here is a nice way to be different!

You can purchase these decals directly from Lifelike Decals. My sincere thanks to Lifelike Decals for this review sample!
