First Look
Lifelike Decals from Japan turns out some colorful and nicely printed subjects. In this set, we have four distinctive Fokker D.VII fighters that will definitely compliment the Roden or Eduard kits.
This decal set provides markings for four aircraft:
- D.VII (Fokker), 4348/18, Jasta Boelcke, Lt Paul Blunk, Lenz by Mons airfield, Nov 1918
- D.VII (OAW), 4499/18, MFJ III, Franz Mayer, Jabbeke, Aug/Sep 1918
- D.VII (Fokker), 323/18F, Jasta 11, Willy Gabriel, Beugneux, Jun 1918
- D.VII (OAW), 2188/18, Jasta 19, Lt Hans Koerner, Tichemont airfield, Sep 1918
Note: Lifelike Decals have contacted us about this sheet - the yellow stripes for Willy Gabriel's aircraft should be orange while the identification numbers should be larger. They are issuing a correction for this sheet now and if you have this set, contact them at lifelike@eos.ocn.ne.jp for a copy, otherwise you should see the correction sheet in your decal set.
As you can see in the decal images and profiles, this set provides some distinctive color schemes. If you want to dress up the Roden or Eduard kits, this is the set you've been waiting for. Note that several of the markings in this set are decals that will have to be placed on atop another to recreate the complete marking.
You can purchase these decals directly from Lifelike Decals.
My sincere thanks to Lifelike Decals for this review sample!
