First Look
Lifelike Decals from Japan turns out some colorful and nicely printed subjects. In this set, we have four distinctive Focke Wulfs. These are a combination of Fw 190A/F examples.
This decal set provides markings for four aircraft:
- Fw 190A-4, 9./JG 2, Yellow 4, Vannes AB, France, Feb 1943, as flown by Oblt Siefried Schnell
- Fw 190F-8, I./SG 4, Yellow 7, Wenden AB, Germany, Sep 1944
- Fw 190A-4, Commander JG 101, Triple Chevron, Pau AB, France, Summer 1944, as flown by Major Walter Nowotny
- Fw 190A-3, 2/EJG2. West, Yellow 28, Cazaux AB, France, 1942
The color profiles inside provide top, bottom and side views of the subjects, and these Japanese-made decals are have not been made 'politically correct' as the swastikas are present on the decals and in the profiles. Bravo Lifelike! As you can see in the decal image, this set comes complete with a full set of national markings, distinctive unit markings, and a wealth of maintenance stencils. If you're looking for a colorful alternative that isn't from the mainstream Superscale/Eagle Strike/Aeromaster line-up, here is a nice way to be different!
You can purchase these decals directly from Lifelike Decals. My sincere thanks to Lifelike Decals for this review sample!
