First Look
Lifelike Decals from Japan turns out some colorful and nicely printed subjects. In this set, we have four distinctive Messerschmitts. These are a combination of Bf 109E/G examples.
This decal set provides markings for four aircraft:
- Bf 109E-3 , Kdr III/JG 26, Chievres AB, Belgium, May 1940, as flown by Maj Ernst Freiherr Von Berg
- Bf 109E-4 , Kdr II/JG 26
- Bf 109G-6 , Kdr III/JG 5, Gossen AB, Finland, May 1945, as flown by Hpt Franz Dorr
- Bf 109G-14 , 2/JG 300, Red 10, Esperstedt AB, Germany, Sep 1944
The color profiles inside provide top, bottom and side views of the subjects, and these Japanese-made decals are have not been made 'politically correct' as the swastikas are present on the decals and in the profiles. Bravo Lifelike! As you can see in the decal image, this set comes complete with a full set of national markings, distinctive unit markings, and a wealth of maintenance stencils. If you're looking for a colorful alternative that isn't from the mainstream Superscale/Eagle Strike/Aeromaster line-up, here is a nice way to be different!
You can purchase these decals directly from Lifelike Decals. My sincere thanks to Lifelike Decals for this review sample!
