First Look
Lifelike Decals from Japan turns out some colorful and nicely printed subjects. In this set, we have four distinctive Mustangs, two for Tamiya's recent 1/32 P-51D and two for Trumpeter or Revell 1/32 P-51B Mustang kits. As usual, these decals are nicely printed and very colorful in their subject selections. This decal set provides markings for four aircraft:
- P-51B-15-NA, 42-106924, 334 FS/4 FG, QP-L, 'Salem Representative', as flown by Lt Ralph Hofer
- P-51D-5-NA, 44-14059, 381 FS/363 FG, B3-Y, 'Skyczar', as flown by Capt Fred Munder Jr
- P-51B-10-NA, 42-106647, 382 FS/363 FG, C3-D, 'Big Mac Junior', as flown by Capt John Brown Jr
- P-51D-20-NA, 44-72322, 402 FS/370 FG, E6-A, 'Nancy Lee', as flown by Lt Richard Baggett
As you can see in the decal images, this set comes complete with a full set of national markings, distinctive unit markings, and a wealth of maintenance stencils. If you're looking for a colorful alternative that isn't from the mainstream Superscale/Eagle Strike/Aeromaster line-up, here is a nice way to be different!
You can purchase these decals directly from Lifelike Decals. My sincere thanks to Lifelike Decals for this review sample!
