First Look
Lifelike Decals from Japan turns out some colorful and nicely printed subjects. In this set, we have two distinctive P-47 Thunderbolts that will definitely compliment either the Hasegawa or Trumpeter 1/32 P-47 kits. This set is my favorite among the Lifelike P-47 series so far with the nicest rendering of Tarheel Hal in decal form. The blue star fields are painted in this scale, and Lifelike provides a set of paint templates to help you mask off the proper areas.
This decal set provides markings for two aircraft:
- P-47D-30-RA, 44-33240, 366 FS/358 FG, IA-N, May 1945, 'Tarheel Hal'
- P-47D-5-RE, 42-8434, 354 FS/355 FG, WR-U, Early 1944, 'Lil Lo'
As you can see in the decal image, this set comes complete with a full set of national markings, distinctive unit markings, and a wealth of maintenance stencils. If you're looking for a colorful alternative that isn't from the mainstream line-up, here is a nice way to be different!
