First Look

IsraDecal does once again what they excel at - producing a wide range of colorful Israeli Air Force subjects that are unavailable from most other decal manufacturers. This set comes with a nice set of Cartograf decals along with a well-done color profile booklet clearly showing the camouflage pattern worn by the F-16I and the placement of the various markings for each of the depicted aircraft. Colors are shown in FS 595 standards to make it easy for paint selection. The instructions indicate this set was sized for the Academy 1/32 scale kit.

The set comes with markings to render the following aircraft:

  • F-16I, 421, Negev Sqn, May 2006**
  • F-16I, 459, Bat Sqn, Apr 2006
  • F-16I, 494, Bat Sqn, Apr 2006
  • F-16I, 107, Knights of the Orange Tail Sqn, Jul 2006
  • F-16I, 848, Knights of the Orange Tail Sqn, Jul 2008
  • F-16I, 201, 'The One'l Sqn, Jul 2008
  • F-16I, 868, 'The One'l Sqn, Jul 2008

**The owner of IsraDecals did the full-scale design of the tail art for 421, so you can be certain that he had good references for this decal set as well!

These decals will definitely make your Academy kit look really nice and note that Isra also produces a correction set to replace a number of the antenna fairings on the aircraft to render the proper outline and depth of these unique shapes.
