First Look

This latest release from Impact Decals is Part 2 of a series depicting the aircraft of Marine Fighter and Attack Squadron 225 'The Vagabonds' during their years flying the Skyhawk and Intrudert. This set picks up the VMF-225 history with a 1959 A-4B followed by an A-4C. The squadron was redesignated as an all-weather attack squadron and they became VMA(AW)-225 flying the A-6 Intruder.

The four aircraft in this set are:

  1. A4D-2, 142731, VMA-225, AK/505, USS Essex, 1959
  2. A-4C, 147779, VMA-225, CE/6, Chu Lai AB, RVN, 1965
  3. A-6A, 149990, VMA(AW)-225, CE/5, MCAS Cherry Point, 1966
  4. A-6A, 155623, VMA(AW)-225, CE/10, Da Nang AB, RVN, 1971

These markings are nicely designed and printed, with this set of two sheets providing sufficient markings to render all four aircraft, including sufficient national markings. This set will definitely do some distinctive USMC aircraft using Hasegawa Skyhawk kits, as well as Revell Intruders.

My sincere thanks to Impact Decals for this review sample!
