First Look
FCM Decals has an interesting line of aftermarket decals from Brazil. The subjects covered in this line include many Brazilian civil and military aircraft subjects, WWI aircraft, and the occasional look at the aircraft of other nations as well. This latest release covers an interesting cross-section of P-40 variants across a number of combat theaters:
- P-40N, 16, 7 FS/49 FG, New Guinea, 1943, as flown by Capt Nathaniel Blanton
- P-40M, KH-51, HLeLv 32, Mensuvaara, Finland, 1944
- P-40L, 44, 317 FS/325 FG, Tunisia, 1943, 'Lighthouse Louie' as flown by LtCol Gordon Austin
- Kittyhawk Mk.IA, ET789, 112 Sqn, Egypt, 1942
- P-40N, 42-105288, 7 FS/49 FG, New Britain, 1944
- P-40N, 24, 7 FS/49 FG, New Guinea, 1943
- P-40E, 1493, 33 FG, Baltimore, MD, 1942
The printing on this sheet is nicely done, and printed by Microscale. There are sufficient stencils on this sheet for four aircraft.
