First Look

FCM Decals has an interesting line of aftermarket decals from Brazil. The subjects covered in this line include many Brazilian civil and military aircraft subjects, WWI aircraft, and the occasional look at the aircraft of other nations as well.

F-14 F-14

In this set, we have an interesting pair of Sundowner Tomcats in late service low-visibility camouflage, back when even the CAG aircraft didn't have any color on them. The two examples included in this set are:

  • F-14A-100-GR, 160689, NL/201, VF-111, USS Kitty Hawk, 1991, Skipper's Mount
  • F-14A-125-GR, 161622, NL/200, VF-111, USS Kitty Hawk, 1994, CAG Mount

The instructions show how these decals can accommodate the Italeri kit with the early gun gas vent door as well as the updated Academy kit which has the later NACA vent door. The CAG bird had the newer door while the instructions show that the squadron commander's aircraft still had the older door.

Thanks to FCM Decals for this review sample.
