First Look
Eurodecals has released another interesting decal set for the Tamiya 1/32 F-4C Phantom II kit. This set replicates the distinctive scheme carried by an F-4C Phantom II assigned to the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS) based at NAS Keflavik, Iceland in 1976. This example was one of the aircraft that took part in the William Tell '76 competition and not only carry the William Tell '76 logos, but also the US Bicentennial markings as well. The aircraft depicted here is F-4C-20-MC 63-7618 which carried the black and white checkerboards on its vertical stab and stabilators. Note that the color profile shows 63-7666, a block-21 machine from the same squadron.
While many photos depict this aircraft in its later overall ADC gray scheme, this set covers the aircraft still wearing its Southeast Asia camouflage that it wore in South Vietnam. If you're looking for a distinctive scheme for your Tamiya kit, look no further than this nice decal set!
My sincere thanks to Fantasy Printshop for this review sample!
