First Look
Empire City Decals has returned with nine distictive Chinese, Japanese, and Soviet fighter aircraft that took part in the early part of the war over China. Unlike some of their early releases however, these decals are not Alps-printed, they are waterslide decals printed by AviPrint of the Czech Republic.
The nine aircraft featured in this set include:
- Gladiator, 2909, 29 FS, Chinese AF, 1938
- Hs 123A-1, 1506, 15 FS, Chinese AF, 1938
- Ki-27, 2 Sentai/11 Chutai, IJA, 1939
- I-153, Red 29, 56 IAP, Soviet AF, 1939
- I-153, Red 11, 56 IAP, Soviet AF, 1939
- I-16 Type 10, Red 5, 56 IAP, Soviet AF, 1939
- I-16 Type 10, White 2, 70 IAP, Soviet AF, 1939
- I-16 Type 10, White 7, unknown, Soviet AF, 1939
- Ki-10II, 72 Chutai, 2 HikoDaitai, IJA, 1938
The decals are printed sharp, clear, and in perfect register. Plus it appears that there are sufficient markings on the sheet to do all nine aircraft with this one set. Nice!
These will provide some interesting subjects for the 1/72 WWII aviation modeler. Definitely recomended!
