First Look

Empire City Decals has released their first sheet aimed at the 1/35 scale armor market and it covers the ever-popular T-34 tank. The sheet provides markings for 15 different late World War II through Cold War T-35/85 tanks, some Russian, many from other parts of the world. The sheet covers the following subjects:

T-34/85 T-34/85

  • T-34/85, Red 01, 119 Tank Regt, Soviet Army, Winter 1944, Armenian script
  • T-34/85, Yellow 211, 2 Tank Div, Finnish Army, Summer 1944
  • T-34/85, Soviet Army, May 1945
  • T-34/85, White 122, Somali Army, 1978
  • T-34/85, 44 Armored Bde, Syrian Army, 1967
  • T-34/85, 202 Armored Regt, North Vietnamese Army, 1971
  • T-34/85, White 1213, 3 Armored Bde, Polish Army, May 1945
  • T-34/85, Greek Cypriot National Guard, Cyprus, 1974
  • T-34/85, 1 Armored Bde, Czech Army, Winter 1945
  • T-34/85, Egyptian Army, Suez, 1956
  • T-34/85, Angolan Marxist Army, 1980s
  • T-34/85, White 212, Somali Army, 1980s
  • T-34/85, Beirut, 1982
  • T-34/85, Yellow 2-220, Soviet Army, Autumn 1944
  • T-34/85, Yellow 321, 56 Guards Tank Bde, Occupied Germany, 1946

These decals are printed sharp, clear, and in perfect register. The variety of subjects and paint schemes will make any T-34 fan want to build several subjects from this sheet.

These will provide some interesting subjects for the 1/35 DML or Tamiya T-34/85 kits, though you'll need to dig out the references to replicate some of the design differences that some of the subjects will exhibit from their Czech, or remanufactured detail differences.
