First Look
Here is the latest release from Caracal Models, this time to provide some interesting options for the Hasegawa 1/72 P2V Neptune kits. The aircraft presented in this set include:
- SP-2H, 148352, VP-56, LQ/5, US Navy
- SP-2H, 145910, VP-4, YD/9, US Navy
- DP-2E, 128342, VC-5, UE/00, US Navy
- AP-2E, 131496, US Army
- OP-2E, 131423, VO-67, MR/10, US Navy
The markings are nicely printed and provide national markings, unit markings, as well as specific identification markings, plus a set of airframe stencils. The decals are all single-layer - none of them require you to stack one decal atop another to recreate complex art as with some other decal manufacturers. The set consists of two sheets plue a small correction sheet. The sheets on the left are printed by Microscale while the stencil sheet on the right are printed by Cartograf.
If you have one (or more) of the classic Hasegawa Neptunes in your collection but have waited to build the kit, these new and colorful subjects should help you move forward on that project!
