First Look

Here is the latest release from Caracal Models, this time to provide some interesting options for Minicraft's outstanding PBM-5/5A Mariner kits. The aircraft presented in this set include:

PBM-5/PBM-5A Mariner Part 2 PBM-5/PBM-5A Mariner Part 2

  • PBM-5T, 84780, 108, ATU-501, NAS Corpus Christi, 1955
  • PBM-5A, 122079, US Navy Academy, Annapolis, 1953
  • PBM-5, 84682, BA/1, VP-47, 1951
  • PBM-5A, 122602, -/602, VR-21, NAF Oppama, 1950

The markings are nicely printed (of course, they're from Cartograf) and provide sufficient markings for one subject. The decals are all single-layer - none of them require you to stack one decal atop another to recreate complex art as with some other decal manufacturers.

My sincere thanks to Caracal Models for this review sample!
