First Look
Here is the latest release from Caracal Models for your favorite 1/72 Alpha Jet kit. This set covers the most famous operator of the Alpha Jet, France's premiere aerial demonstration team Patrouille de France..
The set provides markings to replicate all nine aircraft in the 2013 team with pilot and crew chief names and registration numbers. If you want to replicate an aircraft not provided in this set, a separate sheet is included with generic letters and numbers to render whatever team airframe you want to build. In addition, this set provides special commemorative markings for:
- 1993 Patrouille de France 40th Anniversary
- 1995 50th Anniversary of the end of WWII
- 2001 France's Presidency of the European Union
- 2003 Patrouille de France 50th Anniversary
- 2008 Patrouille de France 55th Anniversary
- 2009 75th Anniversary of the French Air Force
- 2013 Patrouille de France 60th Anniversary
The markings are nicely printed (by Cartograf) and provide national markings, distinctive tail art markings as well as a nice set of airframe stencils. The decals are all single-layer - none of them require you to stack one decal atop another to recreate complex art as with some other decal manufacturers.

My sincere thanks to Caracal Models for this review sample!
