First Look

Here is the latest release from Caracal Models, this time to provide some interesting options for your favorite 1/72 F-5A kit. The aircraft presented in this set include:

F-5A F-5A

  • F-5A, 67-14901, 152. Filo, Merzifon AB, Turkish AF, 1988
  • F-5A/2000, 67-21254, 133. Filo, Konya AB, Turkish AF, 2003
  • F-5A, 63-08419, 343 Mira, Hellenic AF, 1980s
  • SF-5A, A9-035, Esc 211, Spanish AF, 1976
  • SF-5A, A9-045, Ala 21, Spanish AF, 1990s
  • SF-5A, A9-051, Ala 23, Spanish AF, 2000s
  • F-5C, 64-13332, 10 FCS, Bien Hoa AB, USAF, Vietnam, 1967

The markings are nicely printed (of course, they're from Cartograf) and provide stenciling in each of the appropriate languages for the subjects above. The decals are all single-layer - none of them require you to stack one decal atop another to recreate complex art as with some other decal manufacturers.

My sincere thanks to Caracal Models for this review sample!
