First Look
Last year, two Air National Guard units rolled out special anniversary schemes for their commanders' aircraft. These two aircraft featured some eye-catching paintwork. Caracal Models has replicated these for the Tamiya 1/48 F-16C/N Adversary/Aggressor kit.
The aircraft presented in this set include:
- F-16C Block 40B, 88-0428, 175 FS/114 FW/SD ANG, 2017
- F-16C Block 30E, 86-0321, 182 TFS/149 FW/TX ANG, 2017
Both aircraft are GE-powered with widemouth intakes, but the Block 30 has the non-bulged main gear doors and normal HUD while the Block 40 has the bulged main gear doors and the holographic HUD. The Tamiya F-16C/N kit is the only one that has the parts options to render either aircraft.
If you want a pair of colorful Vipers on your scale flightline, this set provides the markings and stencils for two models.
