First Look

Here is the latest release from Caracal Models, the AMX Ghibli for the beautiful Kinetic Models 1/48 scale kit. This set has some very colorful examples, my favorite being number two which is shown below for clarity as tan, but is actually wearing a retro scheme similar to the Macchi C.202/C.205.

The subjects in this set include:

  • AMX, MM7133/51-30, 132 Gruppo/51 Stormo, Italian AF, 2005
  • AMX, MM7178/32-01, 32 Stormo, Italian AF, 2006 (MC.202/205 retro scheme)
  • AMX, MM7152/51-03, 103 Gruppo/51 Stormo, Italian AF, 2003 (Fiat G.91 retro scheme)
  • AMX ACOL, MM7180/32-20, 13 Gruppo/32 Stormo, Italian AF, 2008
  • AMX, MM7157/32-06, 13 Gruppo/32 Stormo, Italian AF, 2009
  • AMX, MM7132/51-01, 103 Gruppo/51 Stormo, Italian AF, 2008
  • AMX ACOL, MM7178/51-43, 132 Gruppo/51 Stormo, Italian AF, 2014

The markings are nicely printed (by Cartograf) and provide all of the distinctive markings for at least one example. For more information about this set and the other releases from Caracal Models, visit their website at http://caracalmodels.com.

My sincere thanks to Caracal Models for this review sample!
