First Look

Here is the latest release from Caracal Models for Tamiya's 1/32 F-4C/D Phantom II kit. This set provides colorful Air National Guard examples wearing ADC Gray and great unit markings.

ANG F-4C/D Part 1 ANG F-4C/D Part 1

The subjects covered in this set include:

  • F-4C, 64-0888, 114 FIS/OR ANG, 1985
  • F-4D, 64-0949, 178 FIS/ND ANG, 1983
  • F-4C, 64-0914, 199 FIS/HI ANG, 1982
  • F-4C, 63-7589, 111 FIS/TX ANG, 1984
  • F-4C, 63-7591, 111 FIS/TX ANG, 1984

The markings are nicely printed (by Cartograf) and provide national markings, distinctive tail art markings as well as a nice set of airframe stencils. The decals are all single-layer - none of them require you to stack one decal atop another to recreate complex art as with some other decal manufacturers.

My sincere thanks to Caracal Models for this review sample!
