First Look
Begemot Decals is an interesting decal company from Rostov-on-Don, Russia that offers a nice array of markings for Soviet and Russian aircraft. In this release, Begemot provides a utility set that provide a wide array of red stars in various styles and sizes to match any 1/72 project you are planning to undertake. Let's take a look:
This set consists of two sheets and provides red stars in darker red or brighter red, with and without the white background, and with solid or dashed outlines. The set also includes bands of red and white for repair work or use as fuselage bands (where applicable) as well as DOSAAF markings in several styles. This set is also produced in 1/48 scale, so you can tackle a wide range of cold war subjects from the MiG-15 to the Tu-160, and if you make use of Begemot's other utility sets that provide contemporary Russian Air Force (and Russian Naval Aviation) markings as well as civil registrations, you can render subjects that have yet to be supported with their own decal sets.

My sincere thanks to Begemot Decals for this review sample!
