First Look
Begemot Decals is an interesting decal company from Rostov-on-Don, Russia that offers a nice array of markings for Russian-built aircraft. In this release, Begemot takes on a rather recent subject, Sukhoi OKB's newest prototype - the T-50. While most of the airframe looks very similar to the F-22 Raptor, the engine installation and boat-tail look distinctly Su-27. The aircraft first flew in January 2010 and Zvezda has already developed a kit of this beauty. It is only natural that Begemot produce the decal sheet to properly stencil this aircraft as it appears in its very distinctive splinter paint scheme.
The aircraft in question is Bort 51, and as you can see in the images below, Begemot has replicated the low-visibility red stars, vents, and airframe stenciling quite nicely. I must say that this paint scheme and marking combination is enough to get you to buy the kit just to replicate this machine!
If you're looking for an interesting project and a unique subject for your shelf or contest table, this is the decal sheet to make that happen.
