Begemot Decals is a decal company from Rostov-on-Don, Russia that offers a nice array of markings for Soviet and Russian aircraft. In this release, Begemot provides an excellent utility set for recreating the markings of current Russian military aircraft. This set is provided on six sheets and recreates the post 2018 markings standards for Russian Air and Space Force aircraft as well as Russian Naval Aviation aircraft. Let's take a look:

Begemot previously released the revised red star national markings that now have blue and white surrounds around the red star adopted in 2010. This set provides the following options:

  1. Bort numbers in six styles: yellow, white, clear with white surround, red, and blue
  2. Bort numbers provided in several sizes to fit everything from small helicopters to larger bombers
  3. Military service identification: VKS ROSSII (Russian Air and Space Force, and MA VMF (Russian Naval Aviation)
  4. Aircraft serial numbers: RF-xxxxx (military) and RA-xxxxx (civilian)

You'll find that even the newest kit releases (not produced in Russia) will usually have pre-2018 markings, so sets like this provide the opportunity to accurately replicate the markings that would have been applied after the change-over to this new style system.

My sincere thanks to Begemot Decals for this review sample!
