First Look

BarracudaCals has returned with their sixth installment in their 1/32 scale aircraft series with this nice nose art selection of P-40E Warhawks. These subjects run the range of North Pacific, South Pacific, and China/Burma theaters.

P-40 P-40

This set provides an interesting cross-section of subjects:

  • P-40E, 49, 349 FG, Aleutian Islands, AK, 1943
  • P-40E, 85, 9 FS/49 FG, Darwin, Australia, 1942, as flown by 2Lt. George Preddy
  • P-40E, 7, 23 FG, Kunming, China, 1942, as flown by Colonel Robert Scott

The sheets are printed by Cartograf and are very sharp as well as in-register. The sheet comes with a nice set of maintenance stencils and good instructions on where everything goes. The instructions indicate that these markings are intended for the Hasegawa 1/32 P-40E, but I'm sure that you can also use the venerable Revell 1/32 P-40E as well.

My sincere thanks to BarracudaCals Decals for this preview!
