First Look
AOA Decals is back with a nice set of markings options for Trumpeter's 1/32 A-6A Intruder kit. This set provides a snapshot of the different color schemes carried by VMA(AW)-533 over a five-year period and provides sufficient stencils for one aircraft.
The aircraft provided in this decal set include:
- A-6A, 155697, VMA(AW)-533, ED/10, MCAS Iwakuni, 1971
- A-6A, 155672, VMA(AW)-533, ED/7, MCAS Iwakuni, 1975
- A-6A, 155692, VMA(AW)-533, ED/11. MCAS Iwakuni, 1970/71
This provides the interesting color and marking variations for the squadron, all of which happened before the Navy and Marine Corps adopted the low-visibility camouflage schemes.
