The Project

This summer is the 40th anniversary of the first steps on the moon.

This is Revel kit of the astronaut. The white plastic parts are thin. It was built as a vacuform kit: lots of small pieces were added all along the parts to strengthen the assembly. (I used liquid cement made with sprues solved in thinner).

A very long time of sanding followed to get acceptable joints.

Then flat white color was sprayed all over the figure, followed by a coat of acrylic flat varnish. The model was painted with citadel colors.

Some scratch was added to the model: the microphones were replaced, as the hose, made of electric wire.

The LEM part was covered with chocolate paper (gold and silver…I do like chocolate!).
