The Project
The choice of this kit came from the picture of the box. I’d never heard of these ships before! The kit is not expensive at all.(found on ebay for less than three euros + postage). The history and assembly plans are in Polish.
Assembly came pretty well. I found some pictures on the internet and came to the conclusion that colors should be two tones of grey, and red (these were airbrushed, only a grey color was used (Humbrol n°1). I darkened the horizontal surfaces by brushing black oil paint. The red is Humbrol matt 60). A coat of clear was brushed before and after adding the black line decals.
I decided to add the stanchions (thin steel wire) and rigging the rope railings with 1/10mm fishing thread. Some sprue was also used for chimneys, rear and front masts rigging. I failed in adding two flags: the decals tore into pieces in spite of my precautions
As a conclusion, I’ll say the kit is good. I can only regret not speaking Polish !
